Water Well (Rectangle)
There are children standing at a well, waiting with open hands for clean water. Mothers who walk tens of kilometers every day to find water, lives spent longing for water… Now, mothers no longer have to wait by dirty puddles and children no longer have to wait at home. Because there are Arifs.
Dirty water kills!
Water Crisis in Pakistan
Pakistan is one of the countries where the need for clean water is felt most deeply. Millions of people living in rural areas have to travel many kilometers. In many areas, wells are either dry or unable to provide clean water.
Lack of Water Prevents Everything
So instead of going to school, children spend their days searching for water with their families. Those who cannot find clean water suffer from diseases and hardships. This is where your help comes in.
“My mom won't walk long distances anymore”
“Today, for the first time, I didn't have that sore feeling in my stomach. My mom won't walk long distances anymore and we won't be sick all the time. When we put our hands in the water, hope fills us. Now we can dream too; I will go to school and play games with my brother. This water not only cooled us down, but also gave hope to our hearts.”
-Zulka
We gave hope to arid hearts in Pakistan!
As Arif Association, for many years, we have identified students and madrasahs in Pakistan who have difficulty in accessing clean water and we have provided clean water to thousands of children and their families with the donations sent by our benefactors. Again, on this path we set out with the same goal, we have provided clean water to a madrasah we identified in Mardan, Pakistan, and hundreds of children and their families who study and will study in the madrasah with the support of our donors!
The Importance of a Water Well
In a settlement with clean water, children no longer get sick and can go to school. Mothers and fathers can farm and earn a living instead of searching for water. Water is not just for drinking; it is essential for sanitation, hygiene and agricultural activities. Drilling a well provides a village or even a region with access to clean water for years to come, reducing disease and improving quality of life.
Drilling a well is one of the most popular and good deeds in Islam. In one of his hadiths, the Prophet (saas) said:
“When a person dies, his deeds cease. Except for three things: Charity, useful knowledge and a good son who prays for him.”
(Muslim, Wassiyya, 14)
A water well is a permanent charity that is accepted as charity. Every person who drinks water from the well you have dug, every person who performs ablution, writes a good deed for you before your book of deeds is closed. Every drop of water reaches people through you and leaves indelible traces in your book of deeds.
Health Clean water helps prevent infectious diseases. The risk of spreading deadly diseases such as cholera and typhoid is reduced.
Education: Children have the opportunity to go to school instead of searching for water. Educated individuals shape the future of society.
Economy: Families with access to clean water can make a living through agriculture. This is an important step in breaking the cycle of poverty.
Security for Women and Children: Women and children in particular do not have to travel long distances to find water. This protects their safety and health.
Our water well constructions are opened within 2 months at the latest, except for natural disasters and natural events such as rain, storms, etc. that affect the entire environment.
After completing your water well donation, our teams in the field start working. The location for the water well is determined and shared with the donor. After the approval of the benefactor is obtained, drilling operations are started. Afterwards, the cleanliness of the water is analyzed and if the water is suitable for drinking, the construction of the well is started. After the well construction is completed, the beneficiary is notified for the opening. If the benefactor wants to attend the opening of the well, an organization is made. If he/she does not want to participate, the water well is opened by informing the benefactor. And a video collage is sent to the benefactor.
